Council tenants living in Doncaster can now access training
at the touch of a button!
St Leger Homes of Doncaster – the
organisation that manages around 21,000 homes for Doncaster Council
– has signed up to a new training package launched by Housing
e-Academy.
It means St Leger Homes’
tenants can access accredited e-learning courses to
develop new skills and increase their confidence. Training
includes CV writing and interview skills.
Meryl Liddell, Community Liaison
Manager at St Leger Homes, said:
" This is a great
opportunity for St Leger Homes to help break down some of the
barriers that can stop our tenants from developing new
skills. These courses will be accessible on line, for tenants
with internet access at home, in the libraryor at
the recently refurbished Tenant Resource
Centre ."
Chloe Weatherhead, Housing e-Academy Manager,
added ‘We are really pleased that St Leger Homes has joined us as
founder members. The founder members will work as a
co-operative; meeting regularly to share best practice with regards
to tenant training and help the Housing e-Academy to develop new
e-learning courses.”
The e-learning is additional to a range of
courses St Leger Homes already offers to tenants. These cover a
wide range of subjects including spreadsheets for beginners;
newsletter writing; website design; family finance; ICT; confidence
building; internet skills, food safety and much more.
